Email Attack
At approximately 7:00 PM, our Technical Department noticed a problem with our mail server. The problem was related to someone sending SPAM and alot of it. Our admin. box alone had over 66,000 messages, in fact, it only too a short time before the servers 4.5Gb main drive was full, and the server stopped funtioning. I turned both mail and main servers off. The attack ended, but we had a damaged mail server. At 11 PM I had turned the main server back on, and all could login. The following morning, Friday Dec. 29,2000 we started bringing a new mail server on line. We had a lot to do, and we did it. Our Tech. Dept. stayed on the phones helping customers during the problem, and I am proud to say, We have solved the problems and all services have been turned up. Happy New Year 2001 to all. Thank you for your patience.
